Theme 9: From Factory to you!
In theme 9 we learned all about how an idea became a toy, and in social studies we learned all about supply and demand! With our knew knowledge, every student was able to create their own invention to “sell.” After watching a couple shark tank clips, the students were able to create a speech to share their invention with the third grade “investors.” Every investor was able to invest $500 dollars (aka – unit cubes!). Take a look at the inventions that received the most funding. 🙂

Theme 8: Predicting Nature’s Hazards
We had a special guest speaker from the American Red Cross come in and talk to us about emergency preparedness. We learned all about the Red Cross and what to do in case of an emergency!
We also learned about various coping strategies that will help us stay calm incase there is an emergency. In the first picture we were practicing breathing in the color blue and blowing out the color grey! Part of this presentation involved us participating in The Pillowcase Project! We each got our own emergency pillowcase to decorate and take home (***To ensure the decorations don’t wash off the pillowcase, make sure you throw this in the dryer for 20 minutes.) Be sure to check out all the cool materials your child brought home today!
